BEANS – THE PERFECT OPTIONS FOR QUARANTINE

As the title says it all, today we’ll discuss one food – beans. So we’ll be straightforward – why beans, among many other types of foods, should be in our pantry during this pandemic ??

? Beans are nutritious. It’s packed with nutrients. The most outstanding macronutrient in beans is protein – and we definitely need this source of protein during our quarantine days to build our body ??, specifically our immune system. Beans are also high in fiber ?????; we have been emphasizing fiber since day 1, and even when we’re not social distancing, we’d still encourage high fiber intake. And of course, beans have a variery of vitamins and minerals, namely iron, folate, and other B vitamins (There are more in different types of beans – contact us for more information ?).

? Beans are easy to store. As we discussed in our previous post, we’d like to store foods with longer shelf-life in our pantry. Well lucky for you – beans usually come in dried or canned form, and these forms are definitely a great choice for quarantine. Most dried beans can be stored for years, and unopened canned beans can be stored up to 1 year after the expiration date (even though we definitely don’t recommend consuming any food passing its expiration date ?). However, check the food labels before buying anything for optimal nutrition benefits.

? Beans are versatile. There are numerous types of beans, and numerous ways to cook them. We can actually name a few cooking recipes right now ? – you can make soup ? or pasta ? with beans (in place of meats); you can have chilled beans salad ?, or you can mix beans and grains ?!!! Again, OUR RECIPE WITH BEANS WILL BE POSTED, SO STAY TUNED ?

There are more, but we’ll keep it short. Double tap if you agree, and we’ll get you more nutrition tips posted ???
